‘Those Thrilling Days of Yesteryear’ performs Dracula

The Oak Park Arms Retirement Community presents a radio reenactment group called ‘Those Thrilling Days of Yesteryear,’ who will present “Dracula” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Avenue.

This Halloween, Those Thrilling Days of Yesteryear bring Bram Stoker’s horror classic to life in the recreation of the Canadian Broadcasting Company’s 1949 radio broadcast of “Dracula”.

The story of Count Dracula has been retold countless times. This radio program aired in 1949 when imagination was the picture of the chilling story. This radio reproduction will be performed live in the Ballroom of the Oak Park Arms.

Those Thrilling Days of Yesteryear is a radio troupe comprised of professional actors and voice-over artists and has been providing top-notch entertainment at the Oak Park Arms for 10 years. This tenth season anniversary every show is partnering with a different local non-profit. This show will be a fundraiser for the Oak Park River Forest Historical Society.

The Oak Park Arms is a rental retirement community which provides independent living and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.

The class is free and open to the public. For more information contact Jill Wagner at 708-386-4040.
