Mawi, a former Ethiopian refugee, has been inspiring educators, students and theworld with his story and leadership. He is well-known for his best-selling memoir, Of Beetles and Angels: A Boy’s Remarkable Journey from a Refugee Camp to Harvard. He has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, ESSENCE, and The Chicago Tribune. His books will available for purchase and he will be available to sign them.
Dr. Carmen Ayala, Superintendent of North Berwyn SD, will present Supporting the Language Development of English Language Learners in the Classroom. Her knowledge of learning andcurriculum will help all teachers make the best decisions for their students.
