Fish Taken From Pond, Business Windows Shattered: Oak Park Cops

Oak Park Police reported several acts of criminal damage to property on Halloween weekend.

OAK PARK, IL — Two fish were removed from a covered and heated pond at an Oak Park home and found dead nearby Saturday. It's one of a handful of criminal damage to property reports that took place over the weekend in Oak Park.

The fish incident took place in the 1100 block of N. Grove Ave. sometime between 12 a.m. and 10 a.m., according to police. The dead fish were discovered three feet from the pond.

Sometime between Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. and Oct 27 at 2:47 a.m., suspect(s) shattered the front window of a business in the 100 block of Madison, according to a police summary. The total loss is $1,500.

Another window was shattered at a business in the 200 block of Madison around the same time. The victim told police the incident took place sometime between 9 p.m. on Oct. 26 and 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 27. The offender(s) used an "unknown BB style projectile" to break the window. The total loss is estimated to be $1,500.

A third broken window was reported at a a business in the 900 block of Madison. Police say the incident took place sometime between 6 p.m. Oct. 25 and 8:18 a.m. Oct. 29. Again, the suspect(s) used a BB type projectile, which shattered the window and caused an estimated $1,000 in damage.
