Juvenile Knocked Off Bike, Attacked and Robbed: Oak Park Crime Blotter

Two men knocked an Oak Park juvenile off his bike, hit him repeatedly and took his iPhone, police said.

The following information is from the Oak Park Police Department.

5/27 Robbery: An Oak Park juvenile was robbed near the 200 block of Pleasant Avenue on Saturday, May 27. At approximately 10:50 p.m., two unidentified black males approached the teen as he was riding his bicycle, according to police. The suspects knocked him off his bike and one suspect covered his mouth while the other suspect removed an iPhone 5S from his pocket and struck him repeatedly. Police said the phone case was later found at the Ridgeland CTA Green Line stop.

5/27 Attempted Robbery: Police say two teens attempted to rob an Oak Park woman near the 200 block of South Harvey on Saturday, May 27 between 10:40 p.m. and 11:05 p.m. The woman was approached from behind by a suspect who covered her mouth while another suspect attempted to grab her purse. The victim reportedly screamed, which caused the offenders to flee eastbound through the gangway at the south side of her home.

The first offender is described as a black male, 16 to 17 years old, with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or long sleeve with black pants, according to police. The second offender is described as a 16- to 17-year-old black male with a thin build, wearing gray pants and a black long-sleeved or hooded sweatshirt.

5/28 Motor Vehicle Theft: A beige 2005 Volkswagen Jetta was stolen from the 1100 block of Randolph on Sunday, May 28 at approximately 5:09 p.m. Police say the vehicle was allegedly removed by black male teens, who were described as wearing a blue tank top and neon yellow shorts. The vehicle is valued at $15,000.
