Man Allegedly Killed Boy, 16, Playing Basketball In Cicero
Desmond Jones, 20, is charged in the August murder of Irving Astrada, 16, in Cicero.

CICERO, IL — Irving Astrada, 16, was playing basketball with his friends in Cicero on an August night when he was gunned down and killed by two men. Cicero Police have apprehended one suspect in Astrada's murder, 20-year-old Desmond Jones.
Jones was arrested Thursday and charged with murder in the first degree, Cicero Spokesman Ray Hanania said. One suspect is still at large.
Astrada was playing basketball near 16th and 56th Courts on August 22 when he was approached by men who began shooting and Astrada and his friends. After Astrada was shot, he was rushed to Loyola hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Cicero Police canvassed the neighborhood after the shooting. They are still looking for the other suspect. Anyone with information should contact Cicero Police at 708-653-2130.
