Man Offers Candy To Child In Attempt To Lure Her: Maywood Police
A man pulled up to a playground and used a bag of candy to try to lure a 9-year-old girl into his car, Maywood Police said.
MAYWOOD, IL — Maywood Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who used candy to try to lure a child into his vehicle Sunday afternoon. According to Fox 32 News, the man was driving a black car when he stopped his vehicle alongside a playground near the intersection of Washington and 15th at approximately 1:43 p.m.
Police told Fox 32 News that the man then held out a bag of candy and pointed to it before pointing at a nine-year-old girl and then pointing back to the candy. The man reportedly fled after the young girl did not enter his car.
According to police, the man accused of trying to lure the girl is described as a black male around 40 or 50 years old with a medium complexion and short hair with slight graying near his temples.
