Michigan Man Arrested in Oak Park for Fatal Stabbing of Brother-in-Law: Police
Police arrested Gerald R. Kariem, 39, of Michigan in Oak Park. He reportedly fled and was armed after allegedly killing his brother-in-law.

OAK PARK, IL — Oak Park Police have arrested a man sought by Michigan Police in the stabbing death of his brother-in-law. Gerald R. Kariem, 39, of Saginaw, Michigan, was taken into custody without incident Tuesday night, according to M Live Media Group.
According to Saginaw Township Police, a warrant was issued for Kariem’s arrest on Monday on charges of open murder in the fatal stabbing of 40-year-old Marcus C. Coney, his brother-in-law. CBS Detroit reported that Coney was stabbed during a family altercation at his home in Ypsilanti, Michigan on Saturday, April 29. Shortly after the murder, Kariem allegedly fled the scene in his car and was considered armed and dangerous.
M Live Media reported that the U.S. Marshal Great Lakes Regional Task Force worked with the U.S. Marshal-Led Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team to track down and arrest Kariem.

Gerald R. Kariem is currently being held at Cook County Jail awaiting extradition to Michigan.
