Music for violin and flute at Church of Beethoven
Meet Chicago's young classical rising stars!

Church of Beethoven welcomes the next generation of Chicago classical musicians in a special performance Sunday, Sept. 20 at Open Door Theater in Oak Park.
Olya Prohorova, violin, is a founding member of the Virtuoso Philharmonic Orchestra, a Chicago players orchestra composed of members under age 30. She is concertmaster at Roosevelt University Symphony, Chamber and Baroque orchestras.
Erina Koyasu, flute, graduated from the Musashino Academia Musicae in Tokyo with the first prize and was a winner in the 2013 Chicago Flute Club Solo Artist Competition.

The duo will perform Canonic Sonatas for two violins by Georg Philipp Telemann as well as original transcriptions of Russian and Japanese folk songs.
Started in Oak Park in 2011, Church of Beethoven presents Sunday morning classical music performances in an intimate and casual setting as well as poetry by local poets and two minutes of silence. The family-friendly concerts are designed to bring classical music to an intimate audience in a casual setting.

Record store owner Val Camiletti is mistress of ceremonies in a refreshing Sunday morning event with free coffee and cookies.
The concert takes place at Open Door Theater, 902 S. Ridgeland Avenue in Oak Park. Doors open at 10 a.m. Sept. 20 with showtime at 10:30.
