Oak Park Crime Report: Attempted Burglary in Ski Mask, Flonase Theft

Men reportedly wore ski masks in attempted gas station burglary and another man reportedly stole Flonase from a Jewel-Osco.

OAK PARK, IL — In the past week, Oak Park Police reported an attempted gas station burglary by men wearing a ski mask, a retail theft of milk and Flonase and several residential burglaries.

Theft

Theft from motor vehicle: An unknown suspect removed a catalytic converter valued at $800 from a silver 2002 Honda Civic on April 21 at the 1100 block of North Humphrey.

Bicycle theft: On April 20, a black and turquoise Diamond bicycle was taken from a backyard in the 100 block of South Elmwood around 3 a.m. The residents reported seeing the suspect tampering with the screen door before fleeing on foot.

Retail theft: A 30- or 40-year old black male allegedly took Flonase medicine and a half gallon of milk from a Jewel-Osco store at the 400 block of Madison on April 22. After removing the items from the store without paying, the man fled eastbound on Washington.

Burglary

Burglary to automobile: An unknown suspect gained entry to a white 2000 Buick and removed a digital camera battery and $1 in change. The burglary occurred at the 300 block of Home on April 20 between 3 p.m. and 9 a.m. The estimated loss is $16.

Attempted burglary: Shortly before 4 a.m. on April 21, three men used a crowbar to attempt to enter a Golo gas station at the 300 block of Chicago. Two of the suspects were wearing ski masks. The burglary attempt reportedly caused damage to the door frame, glass and lock of the gas station that is estimated at $900.

Burglary to garage: A black male aged 30 to 40 years old allegedly entered a garage at the 1000 block of North Harvey on April 21 around 5:18 p.m. The man reportedly took a red Toro snowblower from inside a white van parked in the garage.
