Oak Park Man Accused Of Running Over, Killing Man With His Car: Police

Richard L. Williams, 66, of Oak Park has been charged with murder after allegedly running over Benjamin Herron, 54, with his car.

OAK PARK, IL — An Oak Park man is in custody after he allegedly ran over and killed a man with his vehicle last week, police said. Richard L. Williams, 66, of the 400 block of South Lombard, is charged with murder in the death of Benjamin Herron, 54, in the 5200 block of West Division on Chicago's West Side, according to Chicago Tribune.

Police said Williams and Herron were reportedly arguing in the street before Williams allegedly used his car to run over Herron, Chicago Tribune reports. Herron was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. According to Chicago Tribune, the Cook County Coroner's Office ruled Williams' death a homicide.

Williams is set to appear in court on July 6.
