Oak Park Police Chief To Take 'Extended Leave Of Absence'
Chief Anthony Ambrose says Oak Park will be in "good hands" as Deputy Chief Reynolds fills in.

OAK PARK, IL -- Oak Park Police Chief Anthony Ambrose will be hanging up his hat for while as he takes an extended leave of absence. The police department announced Wednesday that Deputy Chief LaDon Reynolds will serve as the interim police chief during Ambrose's absence.
In a news release, Ambrose said Oak Park will be in "good hands" with Reynolds, who was promoted to Deputy Chief in September. Reynolds, who graduated from the FBI National Academy, brings with him more than 20 years of experience in law enforcement.
The announcement didn't include a clear reason for Ambrose's leave of absence, but he mentioned that Reynolds taking up the mantle would let him "focus on personal matters that need [his] full attention."
