River Forest-Produced Documentary Screening on WTTW
The documentary, 'Lover Under Fire: The Story of Bertha and Potter Palmer,' airs at 5:30 p.m. Sunday on Channel 11.
The River Forest-based production company Corn Bred Films is debuting a new documentary tonight on WTTW/Channel 11.
“Love Under Fire: The Story of Bertha & Potter Palmer” airs at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, March 24, and runs for half an hour.
The theme of this year’s women’s history month, “Celebrating Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics” may seem like an incongruous fit with a documentary about a 19th century socialite, but that’s not so, says writer, director and producer of the film, Amelia Dellos.

"Bertha Palmer was instrumental in the success of 1893s World’s Columbian Exposition, which had a profound effect on American architecture and industrial processes in the 20th century," Dellos said. “And throughout Bertha’s life, she worked tirelessly to promote the role of women in this country. She was a true revolutionary of her time.”
