Sure. "Spell Yeah" ain't your kids spelling bee. There will be drinks and stiff competition. Spectators get cafeteria snacks and one complimentary drink ticket; Participants get two. First place gets a trophy, bragging rights and a top-secret prize. There are strict rules.

Can you give the word's origin?

"Spell Yeah" is a program of the library's "Genre X" series, a book club for those in their 20s and 30s. They meet at a bar in Forest Park every fourth Tuesday and I'm sure they're awesome people to hang with.

Is there an alernate pronunciation?

Um, no. But registration ends Friday, and organizers say spots are filling up fast. You can (try to) register here. Ten spots will be available at the door.
