Oak Park Township Trustee Intends to Run for D. 200 Board
Eric Davis will vie for seat on panel connected with Oak Park and River Forest High School.

Eric Davis, who has served as Oak Park Township trustee for eight years, said he intends to run as a candidate for the District 200 school board.
Davis told Patch about his intentions during last week's Democratic victory celebration at Fitzgerald's.
An architect, Davis, 52, said with one son in his senior year at Oak Park and River Forest High School and another about to enter the school, he thought it was a good time to move forward to the high school board.

He is at the high school often. Davis serves on a facilities planning task force at OPRF and is part of a community panel providing input on the into the implementation of the STEM program. STEM is a nationwide learning program that encourages students to go into technical professions.
"I felt it was a good time to make a change," he said.

Completing his second term as a township trustee, Davis was a leader in the development of the Oak Park Township which affords better and more accessible services to the Oak Park senior community. The center opened in August.
For that effort, Davis has received the 2012 Award for Excellence in Public Service from the trustee division of Township Officials of Illinois.
Four seats will be open on the District 200 school board in 2013. Prospective candidates can pick up materials from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the administrative office, 201 Scoville Ave., Oak Park. Call 708-383-0700 for more information.
