Ouch! Beyonce's Butt Smacked. Call the Lawyers?

It was the butt smack heard round the world. Mrs. Carter, a/k/a Beyonce Knowles, was performing in Denmark when an overzealous fan rose out of the crowd and delivered an unwanted smack to her left butt cheek. Needless to say, the “Bootylicious” one was not pleased. She threatened to have him escorted out of the show. No word on whether or not she carried through with her threat. It seems clear that hitting a person can be construed as a criminal assault. But did you ever wonder if some bizarre incident that happened to you was more than “just annoying” or “life changing” in a bad way? Let us take a second look at Beyonce’s unwanted butt smack. It seems that she was humiliated - at a minimum - and certainly angry. Are humiliation and anger compensable items of damage? The answer is could be to Beyonce or someone else of her celebrity status. In Illinois, she might be able to recover damages for negligent or intentional infliction of emotional distress from her “attacker”. Negligent or intentional infliction of emotional distress does not require a physical injury for recovery.
