Renowned Christian Scholar and Author to Speak at Concordia University Chicago
Paul Maier will speak on today's rapidly changing culture and how that change informs and affects the lives of faith-filled people.

Concordia University Chicago presents author Paul Maier, professor emeritus of ancient history at Western Michigan University, who will give an engaging presentation at Grace Lutheran Church in River Forest on Thursday, March 26 at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
Maier will speak on today’s rapidly changing culture and how that change informs and affects the lives of faith-filled people. His lecture is funded by a grant from the Hilda E. Bretzlaff Foundation of Milford, Michigan, in support of the Morality, Culture and Christian Community Lecture Series, which was founded in 1997. Maier, the author of several works of historical fiction and non-fiction, will also sign books before and after the presentation. Books will be available for purchase at the event.

Maier’s popular works include “A Skeleton in God’s Closet” (1994), a theological thriller that became a national best-seller; “Pontius Pilate” (1968), a documentary novel about the man who sentenced Jesus to death by crucifixion; and seven children’s books including “The Very First Christmas” and “The Very First Easter.” He has also written more than 200 articles and reviews in numerous scholarly journals, and frequently gives lectures and seminars on Christianity and ancient Near East, Greek and Roman history.
Grace Lutheran Church is located at 7300 Division Street in River Forest, Illinois. Free handicapped-accessible parking is available in the Concordia-Chicago parking structure on Bonnie Brae Street.
