Teens Rob Man, Rock Thrown Through House Window, Car Stolen from Enterprise: Oak Park Crime Blotter

A man was attacked and robbed by teenagers on May 17 as he walked down the sidewalk at the 200 block of Thomas.

OAK PARK, IL — The following information is from the Oak Park Police Department.

Robbery

On May 17, a man was reportedly approached by five black male teenagers as he walked on the sidewalk near the 200 block of Thomas. Police say the teens pushed the man to the ground and began kicking him before going through his pockets. The teens reportedly took a black LG cellphone and the victim’s work ID card before fleeing northbound down the Lombard alley on foot. The victim described the offenders as five black males, approximately 13 to 16 years old, with thin builds. The first suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The second was reportedly wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts with a white stripe and black shoes. The third is described as wearing a black jacket, black baseball cap, black shorts and red shoes. Police said the third suspect was wearing a white T-shirt with black pants and white shoes. No description was given for the fifth suspect.

Motor Vehicle Theft

On May 16, an unidentified individual or individuals stole a 2016 gray Hyundai Santa Fe from the Enterprise CarShare at the 800 block of South Euclid between 6:47 a.m. and 9:07 p.m. It is still unclear how the person or persons were able to gain entry and remove the vehicle.

Criminal Damage to Property

A resident at the 1000 block of North Hayes Avenue reported that a rock was thrown through two of the rear windows of her home, breaking the windows and breaking the window on the door of her kitchen oven. The incident occurred on May 18 between 7:28 p.m. and 7:32 p.m.
