Veterans Day

This weekend, I was in Springfield IL and toured the Lincoln Presidential Museum -- what a fabulous place to learn about our history as a nation -- and, what staggering sacrifices people made in the name of freedom ! Touring the Civil War exhibit, it was shocking to see the numbers of casualties - over 581,000 in the North and 492,000 in the South.

It was encouraging to see how many young school children were there on a field trip -- technology certainly enables history o be presented in a memorable way - the Museum is impressive, interactive, and, a place where history comes alive. So glad that our history will not get lost on the young.

Tomorrow, we honor all those who have sacrificed for our freedoms -- every soldier of every war -- and, especially those who paid the ultimate sacrifice - their lives.

Because freedom is never free !
