Village Provides Safe Walking Routes for Oak Park Schools
Plan your child's walk to school with safe walking routes from the Village of Oak Park.

As families plan their school commutes for the 2013-14 year, they'll be able to take advantage of village resources that outline safe practices for walkers and bikers.
The Village of Oak Park has identified safe routes students can use to walk to school. The maps for Julian and Brooks middle schools are attached above.
Safe walking routes for Oak Park elementary schools:
Students who bike to school are encouraged to register their bikes with the Oak Park Police Department, which provides tips for theft prevention and reporting theft: The bike license application and safety flyer is available here.
Students 15 and older cannot ride on sidewalks, and all bikes are prohibited on sidewalks in business districts. More bike safety tips are available here.
