• Severe Thunderstorm Downs Trees and Traps 12 in Point Park on Raccoon Lake (southernillinoisnow.com) — A fast-moving Monday evening thunderstorm blew shingles off a home in Odin and dumped heavy rain across much of Marion County. The same storm downed trees near Raccoon Lake, temporarily trapping 12 people at Point Park and knocking out power in several spots before Ameren crews and city workers cleared lines and reopened roads.
