3 Men Target Orland Park Residence In Home Invasion
Orland Park police believe the home was targeted and that it was not a random act.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- A masked man and two accomplices broke into a home and confronted the homeowners as they rummaged through the residence, Orland Park police said. The home invasion happened Tuesday afternoon, but police were not notified until the evening. Police say it was not a random act and that the home appeared to be targeted by the suspects.
The three suspects managed to enter the single-family home in the 14100 block of Trenton Driver around 2 p.m. Aug. 14. Police said the three confronted a 55-year-old man, who lived in the residence. Shortly after, a 57-year-old resident arrived home and she, too, was confronted. No other household members were home at the time.
Police said the three spent some time searching the house and left. It’s not known what was taken from home. The purported home invasion was not reported until 9:30 p.m. An initial investigation revealed that the suspects were familiar with the homeowners’ son and that they were searching the residence for money. Police do not believe it was a random act and continue to interview witnesses.
