33rd Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Set for Saturday, May 10

ssociation and Orland Township, is proud to announce the 33rd Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025.

The "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive, launched in 1992, takes place every year on the second Saturday of May. It is the largest single-day food drive in the nation, spanning over 10,000 cities and towns across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Guam. This year, Orland Township residents are encouraged to leave bags of non-perishable food items by their mailboxes, where letter carriers will collect them during their regular routes and deliver them to the Orland Township Food Pantry.

"Stamp Out Hunger" is a vital effort to help those in need, and last year’s drive collected an impressive 40,000 pounds of food for the Orland Township Food Pantry, reflecting the generous spirit of the local community

How to Participate:

Residents are invited to place unexpired, non-perishable food items in bags by their mailboxes by 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 10. Letter carriers will collect the donations and deliver them directly to the Orland Township Food Pantry, where food will be sorted and stocked by staff and volunteers.

Suggested Donation Items:

• Jelly
• Beef stew
• Chili
• Chicken noodle soup
• Broth
• Spaghetti-Os
• Baby formula
• Dried nuts
• Protein drinks

Every contribution, regardless of size, helps in the fight against hunger in the Orland Township.
"The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors who are facing food insecurity,” said Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady.

“I encourage everyone to participate because no contribution is too small, and together we can create lasting change. Orland Township is proud to be part of this national effort to fight hunger, and we’re grateful for the generosity of our residents."

The Orland Township Food Pantry is here to support our neighbors and is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone in need of food assistance is encouraged to reach out — there is no shame in asking for help. The food pantry is committed to supporting the community with dignity and care, ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need.

To receive assistance, simply bring proof of residency, income, and complete a short application, available at the Orland Township Food Pantry located at 14807 S. Ravinia Ave. in Orland Park, IL. The Township is committed to ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need.
