American School Bus Company in Orland Park Rolls in with Toys for Children Fighting Cancer

In the spirit of giving, the employees of the American School Bus Company in Orland Park recently helped children and teens fighting cancer when they hosted a holiday toy drive to benefit the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation. Treasure Chest Foundation Board Treasurer John Waiting said, “The pandemic is affecting all of our lives and putting life on hold. However, the Treasure Chest Foundation is still needed as cancer continues to affect the children. The Foundation helps with the kid’s emotional wellness.”
American School Bus Company is fully a licensed family-owned business that provides excellent customer service with well-maintained buses. Their bus drivers have undergone certification training so that they deliver the best transportation service possible.
POTCF Founder and CEO Colleen Kisel said, “The Treasure Chest Foundation is especially grateful to the American School Bus Company employees for their donation of toys. We are blessed to have their support.”

The POTCF is a unique organization whose services impact more than 14,800 young cancer patients in 63 cancer treatment centers in 21 states across the nation and in the District of Columbia. Nowhere else in the nation does such a program exist. Colleen Kisel founded the organization in 1996 after her then seven-year-old son Martin had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1993. Ms. Kisel discovered that giving her son a toy after each procedure provided a calming distraction from his pain, noting that when children are diagnosed with cancer their world soon becomes filled with doctors, nurses, chemotherapy drugs, surgeries and seemingly endless painful procedures. Martin celebrated his 28th anniversary of remission from the disease in March of this year.
