Visitation is Wednesday for Reginald Shem, World War II Veteran

Visitation is Wednesday for Reginald Daniel Shem, 85, late of Orland Park, who passed away July 4 at Palos Community Hospital.

Mr. Shem was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Irene Shem nee Gudas; devoted father of Mary Shem-Walters, Thomas (Christine), Robert (Wendy), John (Carolyn) and the late James Shem; proud grandfather of Philip (Jillian) Walters, Clare (Adam) Briner, Andrew Walters, Emily and Nathan Shem; dear great-grandfather of Emmitt Briner and Zachary Walters; loving brother of Raymond (late Dorothy), Roger (Phyllis) Shem and preceded in death by seven siblings. Mr. Shem was the fond brother-in-law of Paul Gudas, and kind uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Shem was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Forces.

Visitation is Wednesday, July 6, from 3-8 p.m. Funeral is  Thursday, July 7, at 9:45 a.m. from Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service), 14318 S. LaGrange Road in Orland Park, to St. Michael Church for 10:30 a.m. Mass. Interment is at St. Casimir Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to American Heart Association or American Lung Association are appreciated.
