Some members of the dinner party went over to Perkins’ house after dinner, including his accuser.

“The victim knows the defendant and his wife, and it’s true she went to sleep,” Adam Jr. said, “but there were four other people in the house.”

The next day, Adam Jr. said, Perkins and the woman spent the day shopping. The woman did not report the alleged unwanted sex until she had a conversation with Perkins’ wife later in the day.

Adam Jr. said his client was a “pillar of the community,” who’s involved in lucrative business deals.

“There were no reports made to police for hours,” the attorney said.

The prosecutor also requested that Perkins to not have any contact with his accuser as a condition of bond..

Adam Jr, told the judge that the woman was still contacting Perkins’ wife and her sister.

“I’m also putting the state on notice,” Adam Jr. said.

The judge said he would have the prosecutor speak to the woman to ask her to quit calling Perkins’ wife.

Bail was set at $100,000. Perkins is due back in court Feb. 28 in Bridgeview.
