Blazing Roof Fire Cause Major Damage To Orland Park Restaurant

Employees and customers were evacuating restaurant when Orland Fire Protection District arrived, officials said.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- A blazing roof fire caused major damage to an Orland Park restaurant late Saturday afternoon. The Orland Park Fire Protection District responded to an automatic fire alarm at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers restaurant at 15503 S. LaGrange Road around 4:30 p.m. Employees and customers were evacuating when firefighters arrived.

Witnesses reported a blazing roof fire. Firefighters confronted a burning fire on the roof of the restaurant. The fire is believed to have started in the building’s kitchen, which was also damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damages are estimated to in excess of $100,000. No injuries were reported.
