Bring Lots of Love to Watts of Love

Sustainable Solutions; Solar Energy; Philippines; Love Light; Empowerment

Watts of Love of Downer’s Grove will embark on its 5th year of serving the poorest communities in the Philippines and providing them with solar lights and sustainable solutions out of poverty. Newest to the team is Christie Dunne, a hometown girl from Oak Forest, raising funds for purchasing these lights. One solar light allows a family to save funds otherwise spent on Kerosene. In one month, it is enough to buy 2 chickens, feed a family, and provide a path out of poverty. Immediately, a light recipient can start a business and begin to earn extra income. Over the course of a few short months, it is incredible to see how our light recipients have invested in themselves and have built their own homes - some with their own 2 hands!
