Carl Sandburg HS Senior is State Champ in Speaking

HEADED TO NATIONALS….Congratulations to Orland Park’s Moyo Abiona, a senior at Carl Sandburg High School. Moyo is the school’s first state champ in extemporaneous speaking and is headed to the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Dallas in June.
As Consolidated High School District 230 recognized students on Sandburg High School’s speech team who placed at the state tournament in February, one confessed that she hadn’t joined the team until her sophomore year because she had a fear of public speaking.
