UPDATED: Construction on 143rd Street West of LaGrange Road On Hold Until Next Week Due to Rains
While concrete laying on the street was scheduled to begin Friday, heavy rains and the possibility of more today have held up the work until next week.

The westbound lane on 143rd Street between LaGrange Road and Southwest Highway will be closed starting on a day next week to be determined, as crews are scheduled to start laying concrete.
Traffic will be directed by flaggers going both east and west (not at the same time, of course) on the one remaining open lane on 143rd Street, however delays are expected.
The entrance to the 143rd Street Metra Station from 143rd Street will also be blocked off, as will the service road to the Orland Plaza behind Randy’s Market.

When the construction does begin, travelers are encouraged to enter the Plaza and Metra station parking area from LaGrange Road heading south before 143rd Street. Metra commuters can also access the parking lot from Southwest Highway.
