Cops Find Cocaine In Bedroom Raid

Cops find cocaine, cutting agents and packaging materials in Orland Park man's bedroom while executing a search warrant, prosecutor said.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- An Orland Park man was arrested after police found cocaine in his bedroom while executing a search warrant, prosecutors said. Ruben Rayo, 27, appeared before Cook County Judge Michael Kane on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and manufacturing/delivery of cocaine. Rayo is also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the charges, Orland Park police executed a search warrant on July 5 at Rayo’s residence in the 14200 Streams Town Court. Officers found 5.4 grams of cocaine in Rayo’s bedroom, the prosecutor said. Also found was a digital scale with cocaine residue, cutting agents and packaging materials.

The prosecutor said Rayo had two prior arrests, for which he was given drug school in 2013 and 2015. Bail was set at $10,000. Rayo is due back in court Aug. 3 in Bridgeview.
