Cops Find Pot, Cocaine, in Orland Park Man's Bedroom: Prosecutor

Prosecutor says man was target of search warrant on home.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- Orland Park police arrested a 19-year-old man after they found suspected marijuana and cocaine in his bedroom while executing a search warrant, prosecutors said.

Marco Giorango appeared before Cook County Judge Stephen Rosenblum on felony charges of possession with cannabis and cocaine with intent to deliver.

The prosecutor said Giorango was the target of a search warrant served on his home in the 11800 block of Shade Cove Court in Orland Park. Police moved in on his residence Aug. 10, focusing on the man’s bedroom.

There, police found 237 grams of suspected cannabis divided up in numerous small baggies, eight grams of suspected cocaine, a scale covered with cannabis residue, and $2,200 cash, according to the charges.

The assistant public defender told the judge that Giorango is a graduate of Sandburg High School who is due to leave for college. He has no prior criminal background.

Bail was set at $10,000. Giorango is due back court Sept. 1 in Bridgeview.
