Cop Saves Crying Kid and Baby Left Alone in Car Parked Outside Orland Mall: Police
The mother of the children reportedly explained that her 6-year-old didn't want to go into the mall with her.

A police officer sent to the Orland Mall to check on unattended children in a car reportedly found a crying 6-year-old and an 11-month-old baby left to fend for themselves.
The 6-year-old gave the officer her mother’s cell phone number and he called it three times and left voicemails, but the mother, Kimberly Robinson, 31, of Chicago, never responded, police said.
About a half hour after the officer was sent to the car, Robinson emerged from the mall with two more young children, police said.

“Kimberly stated she left the 6-year-old in the car because she didn’t want to go into the mall, and that the child in the car seat was 11 months old,” police said. “Kimberly stated she had gone to the mall in order to exchange a pair of pants she had purchased over the Internet.”
Robinson was charged with endangering the life or health of a child.
