Couple Charged With Selling LSD To Undercover Cop Co-Defendants in 2015 Drug Homicide Case

Couple who sold 100 hits of LSD to undercover Orland Park cop also have pending drug homicide, prosecutor said.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- A couple were arrested after they sold LSD to an undercover Orland Park police officer, prosecutors said. Brent Tyssen, 23, of Midlothian, and 19-year-old Cynthia Parker, of Alsip, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on charges of possession and manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. Parker and Tyssen are also co-defendants in a pending 2015 drug-induced homicide case.

According to the charges, Orland Park police, working with a confidential source, called Parker to arrange to buy 100 hits of LSD and one pill of MDMA for $750, also known as ecstasy or molly. Arrangements were made to meet up in the McDonald’s parking lot at 14445 LaGrange Road. The prosecutor said after the money and drugs exchanged hands, Parker was arrested.

Tyssen, who was waiting in the car, was also arrested and charged, the prosecutor said. He allegedly told police that Parker asked him for a ride to McDonald’s so she could sell LSD to a buyer, so he took her. The two currently have a reckless drug-induced homicide charge from 2015, in which Parker's 18-year-old cousin died of a drug overdose, the prosecutor said. Parker, who was 17 at the time, was charged as a juvenile; Tyssen, then 21, was charged as an adult.

Parker’s records were not available for viewing because she was charged as a juvenile. However, available court records for Tyssen indicate that on May 30, 2015, Parker’s 18-year-old cousin ingested methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA). The teen was found deceased in her bed the next morning. The Cook County Medical Examiner attributed the cause of the Mt. Greenwood teen’s death, in part, to an overdose from MDMA.

Parker and Tyssen were later charged in 2016 for Parker's cousin's death. Tyssen later had his orignal $400,000 bail reduced to $40,000 this past January. He’s been free on bond sever since. His case is being heard in the Leighton Criminal Court Building at 26th and California. Parker's juvenile case is being heard in Markham.

“When is enough enough,” Felice said.

“I show up to all my court dates,” Parker said.

“I don’t care. You’re allegedly selling drugs,” the judge said, “bad drugs.”

Tyssen’s bond was revoked. Bail for the new charges was set at $400,000; Parker’s bail was set at $200,000. Both face a mandatory minimum sentence of at six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, if convicted of the new charges.

Parker and Tyssen are both due back in court Nov. 2 in Bridgeview.
