Delinquent Orland Park 2022 Audit Finally Filed

Orland Park finally files Delinquent 2022 article

By Kathy Fenton

Corrected Article. Inform Orland Park has received, via the Freedom of Information Act request of the Illinois Comptroller, an email from the Village of Orland Park's auditor to the comptroller's office admitting the village missed the October 31st filing date for the 2022 audit that was agreed to by the village.

On November 4th, Mayor Keith Pekau told the public that the delinquent 2022 audit was "accepted" by the Village Board. The village auditor's email states the audit would be filed by November 11, missing the village's stated deadline of October 31st. The state comptroller has by law 45 days to review the audit for accuracy, and could reject it.

Pekau's mismanagement has damaged the village's reputation, forced experienced talent to leave due to his inept micromanaging, and put village finances in great peril. All of which damages the reputation of your hometown and impacts your property taxes.
