District 146 Board Approves New Curriculum Director
Wendy Wolgan to bring a wealth of experience to position

The District 146 Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Wendy Wolgan as its new Curriculum Director beginning July 1, 2019.
“We are very excited to have Wendy join the District 146 family,” said Dr. Jeff Stawick, Superintendent. “The knowledge, experience, and expertise she brings with her will assuredly help the District continue to offer an outstanding educational experience for all of our students.”
Wolgan has been an administrator for 15 years and keeps students at the heart of her educational decision-making. She has experience in fostering collaborative professional learning communities, a model embraced by District 146.

While she was a principal, Wolgan’s school was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue-Ribbon School and by the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators as a Distinguished School.
“I am truly looking forward to being a part of District 146,” Wolgan said. “More than half of my 22 years as an educator have been dedicated to working in Curriculum and Instructional Leadership. I am excited to bring my building and district level administrative experience to District 146 and to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.”

Wolgan has completed doctoral work in Curriculum and Instructional Leadership and is currently completing her dissertation focused on research related to problem solving in mathematics.
Community Consolidated School District 146 is comprised of Central Middle School, Fierke Education Center, Fulton School, Kruse Education Center, and Memorial School. Students from Tinley Park, Orland Park, and Oak Forest attend District 146 schools.
