Five Injured in Three-Car Crash in Orland Park

The crash happened around noon Thursday, on 151st Street.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Four people were transported to area hospitals Thursday following a three-car crash in Orland Park.

At approximately noon, the Orland Fire Protection District responded to a head-on car accident involving three vehicles on 151 street east of 94th Avenue.

The Orland Fire Protection District responded with 4 ambulances, and transported two individuals requiring advanced care to Silver Cross Hospital, and two others to Palos Hospital for basic emergency care. None of the civilians in the vehicles were trapped, but the two cars that hit head-on were totaled.

There were a total of five people in the three cars involved in the accident. Individuals included the drivers of the two cars that hit each other head-on, and three individuals in the car that struck the light pole.

Emergency responders and firefighters found two vehicles with major damage resulting from the collision. A third vehicle was located about 1000 feet east of the accident site, and had apparently struck the light pole which was knocked over.

According to witnesses, the vehicle that hit the light pole was originally struck from behind on 151st Street. That vehicle that struck the car from behind then veered into oncoming traffic, striking a third vehicle head-on traveling in the opposite direction.

The OFPD said 151st Street was closed for about 35 minutes. Names and conditions of the victims were not available.
