Fraud Awareness Seminar Planned At Smith Crossing
A retired Chicago police officer will offer tips on how to prevent becoming a victim of escalating fraud and scam schemes.
ORLAND PARK, IL — A retired Chicago police officer will offer tips on how to prevent becoming a victim of fraud at an awareness and protection seminar planned for the community hall of Smith Crossing at 10501 Emile Lane in Orland Park on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m.
John Healy served on the Chicago Police Department for 27 years, 15 of them coming as a detective assisting victims of theft, according to a news release about the seminar from Smith Crossing. Healy then joined Marquette Bank as a security director and fraud investigator. On the 21st he will provide insights and tips on how to protect yourself and your family from escalating fraud and scam schemes.
Healy said the seminar will particularly be helpful to senior citizens.

“Seniors especially need to be aware of threatening fraud schemes because they often are targeted by con artists and thieves,” he said.
