Hastings and Orland Hills Mayor to host free veterans’ breakfast
State Senator Michael E. Hastings is partnering with Orland Hills Mayor Kyle R. Hastings to host a free breakfast for local veterans.

ORLAND HILLS – State Senator Michael E. Hastings is partnering with Orland Hills Mayor Kyle R. Hastings to host a free breakfast for local veterans.
The event is scheduled from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, June 23 at the Orland Hills Recreation Center (16553 Haven Ave., Orland Hills) to thank area veterans for their sacrifices made to protect our nation’s democracy and freedom.
Hastings, a former U.S. Army captain, said he enjoys sharing stories and experiences with area veterans and welcomes the opportunity to thank them for their service.

“We cannot begin to pay back our dedicated veterans for the sacrifices they have made for our country,” Hastings said. “I was raised with extreme respect for public service. Events like this allow us to provide our heroes with important information and show our deep appreciation and support.”
The breakfast is free to active duty military members and veterans and is open to the press.

“We look forward to thanking the local military men and women who have served our country and helped keep us safe,” Mayor Hastings said. “We owe a lot to them and this breakfast is just a small token of our appreciation for their service to our nation.”
