The High Cost of Being Keith Pekau’s Friend

Recent campaign finance reports showed that Orland Park residents are not the only people Mayor Pekau straddles with enormous debt. The campaign committees of Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau’s allies on the Village Board are tens of thousands of dollars in debt, while Mayor Pekau has zero debt. These debts are being carried by the trustees themselves and totals a staggering near $132,000.00.

Trustee Cynthia Nelson Katsenas is owed the largest amount of the debt totaling $57,140, including $35,500 from her own committee, $18,640 from the People over Politics, and $3000 from the Orland Township Republican Organization which she serves as committeeman.

Trustee William Healy and his Accounting firm are owed $15,795.00, $2965 from his own committee, and $12,830 from People over Politics.

Trustee Michael Milani is owed $38,740.00, his own committee is in debt to Milani for $20,000, while the People over Politics is in Milani’s pocket for $18,740.

Trustee Joni Radaszewski is owed $6500.00 from her political committee, Trustee Sean Kampas is owed $15,000.00 from his political committee. Village Clerk Patrick O’Sullivan is owed a paltry $200 from Taxpayers for O’Sullivan.

Interestingly, Trustee Brian Riordan has no personal political committee.
Mayor Pekau and his allies will face the village’s residents at the polls next spring to account for the tens of millions of dollars spent on pet projects and massive tax hikes.

Mayor Pekau has previously recruited candidates to politically take over our world class schools and fire districts. Those who are considering joining his slate should pause knowing it could be a very expensive endeavor.
