The Illinois Department on Aging’s Benefit Access Program

Orland Township offers application assistance on the Department on Aging's Benefit Access Program.

ORLAND PARK, IL — The Benefit Access Program, managed by the Illinois Department on Aging, is a program designed to provide senior citizens and people with disabilities who meet specific requirements with reduced-fee license plate stickers and other benefits. This program offers assistance to those who need it most, helping them to maintain their mobility and independence.

To qualify for the program, applicants must be at least 16 years old and totally disabled before January 1 of the current year, or they must be 65 years old or older by December 31 of the current year. In addition, their total income must fall under certain limits, which vary depending on the size of their household.

Income limits are $33,562 for an individual, $44,533 for a couple, and $55,500 for a couple and at least one Qualified Additional Resident. Applicants must be residents of Illinois at the time of application.

If approved, the benefits are valid for two years from the date of approval. The program also includes the Seniors Free Transit Ride or the Persons with Disabilities Free Transit Ride.
