International Association of Women Orland Park Chapter Donates

The Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation was overjoyed to receive a donation of $90, $85 in assorted gift cards and gifts for teens from the International Association of Women Orland Park Chapter. Their donation will directly benefit teens fighting cancer.

The International Association of Women (IAW) is a global in-person and online professional networking platform that provides nearly one million women the forum, professional development and services needed to thrive in an interconnected world. Members cultivate valuable connections, develop professionally, and promote themselves and their businesses.

Ms. Kisel, Founder of the Treasure Chest Foundation and IAW member said, “The Treasure Chest Foundation is especially grateful to International Association of Women Orland Park Chapter members for their enormous donation. We are blessed to have the support of the group.”

The POTCF is a unique organization whose services impact more than 13,300 young cancer patients in 55 cancer treatment centers in 19 states across the nation. Nowhere else in the nation does such a program exist. Colleen Kisel founded the organization in 1996 after her then seven-year-old son Martin had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1993. Ms. Kisel discovered that giving her son a toy after each procedure provided a calming distraction from his pain, noting that when children are diagnosed with cancer their world soon becomes filled with doctors, nurses, chemotherapy drugs, surgeries and seemingly endless painful procedures. Martin celebrated his 26th anniversary of remission from the disease in March of 2019.
