Kids Bring Christmas Caroling Back To Orland Park
Kyler Mrozek and his friend went around Orland Park this holiday season, bringing joy the old-fashioned way.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Every December, Kelly Mrozek and her son, Kyler have a family tradition to get in their pajamas, bring sleeping bags, pick up a few friends and drive around town looking at all the spectacular Christmas lighting displays. But this year they've added a new item to their tradition, and it's something that hasn't trended in many years.
Christmas caroling.
"I told Kyler and the friend he brought with him this year about Christmas caroling," Kelly Mrozek said. "I told them it's something old-fashioned and a thing people don't really do anymore."

But to Kelly's surprise, Kyler and his friend actually wanted to try it. So the two 12-year-olds went out in matching pajamas and caroled around Orland Park on the nights of Dec. 23 and Christmas Eve and during the day on Christmas.
"They went to a bunch of different houses and everyone loved it," Kelly said. "Some gave them cookies and hot chocolate. They got tips too, of course."

Kyler and his friend sang two songs: "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" and "Jingle Bells."
"People were so receptive ... especially the seniors," Kelly said. "It was so nostalgic for them and made them feel good to see something like that come back."
"And to think this all just started as a spur because they didn't know what caroling was."
