LaGrange Road Widening Update: 165th Street to Close July 14

As part of an ongoing project to widen LaGrange Road, 165th Street is scheduled to be closed for 21 days beginning July 14.

Permanent paving throughout the corridor of 159th to 175th began this week and is expected to continue for the next couple of weeks. In some instances, paving operations may be limited to intersections or side roads. But good news for pedestrians! The sidewalk from 179th Street going north has been installed along the east side of LaGrange.

The work is part of the ongoing improvements to LaGrange Road through Orland Park, Orland Hills, Palos Park and Tinley Park. The 6.6-mile project, which stretches from 131st Street to 179th Street, will ultimately provide three lanes in each direction separated by a landscape median, according to IDOT.

In other updates, The Village of Orland Park monument wall foundation work is complete at the northeast corner of 167th Street and LaGrange Road. Additional asphalt paving will take place at 167th Street.
