Lost Wedding Ring Reunited With Owner
A woman's search for the owner of a wedding ring she found in an armoire donated to Goodwill is complete.

ORLAND PARK, IL - The wedding ring found in an armoire that was donated to the Goodwill store in Orland Park months ago has been reunited with its owner. Tracy Roti of Orland Hills told us the story of how she bought the armoire at the Goodwill shop on 159th Street back in November and just noticed last week that a gold wedding ring was found stuck between the rails in the back of the item of furniture. And after a couple of days of frantically searching for the owner through social media, she found her.
“It was her husband’s wedding band,” Roti told Orland Park Patch on Friday, after she met with the woman in Tinley Park. “He (the woman’s husband) passed away last year and she never thought she would ever see the ring again or be able to give it to her son.”

The woman, who did not want her name revealed, was “extremely grateful,” according to Roti.
Roti said on Thursday that the wedding band had a phrase and date engraved on it and that she would only give up the item if the person provided both details to her.

“I am so happy that she was able to get the ring back...I truly believe her husband, from heaven, put this all in motion,” Roti said. “I am overwhelmed by the response and the sharing of my post...I have been contacted by people from multiple states, from Florida to Montana, telling me they shared the post. Social media does have its benefits.”
Roti said she hopes this story will encourage others to share similar types of Facebook posts in the future rather than just scrolling past it.
“It only takes a second to click the share button,” she said. “You never know how by just sharing a post can make a difference in someone’s life.”
