A military jet was forced to make an emergency landing Wednesday afternoon after an engine malfunctioned.

The U.S. Navy F-18 jet—the kind typically used in air shows—was en route from Minnesota to its Virginia Beach, Virginia, base when the problem arose, ABC7 reports. The pilot asked permission for an emergency landing, and Midway halted operations to allow the Navy jet to land safely.
