National Night Out Drives in Donation for Children and Teens Fighting Cancer

A special thanks to Jim Fuentes and Tom Sedor for driving in $172 for children and teens fighting cancer.
Jim Fuentes raised his paddle during the Treasure Chest Foundation’s annual fundraiser and won an appearance of the Back to the Future 1981 DeLorean Replica time machine. Jim suggested landing the Back to the Future DeLorean next to the Treasure Chest Foundation’s booth during the “America’s Night Out Against Crime.” The Night Out Against Crime event took place on Tuesday, August 6th at Freedom Park, in Tinley Park. DeLorean Owner Tom Sedor donated the DeLorean appearance. Participants who stopped by to view the DeLorean time machine were asked to make a donation to the Treasure Chest Foundation. When the DeLorean time machine flew away $172 was raised to benefit the Treasure Chest Foundation.
POTCF Founder and CEO Colleen Kisel expressed her gratitude for the generous support shown by Jim Fuentes and Tom Sedor. “We are so blessed to have the support of Jim Fuentes, Tom Sedor and all who donated to benefit children and teens fighting cancer.”

The POTCF is a unique organization whose services impact more than 13,300 young cancer patients in 56 cancer treatment centers in 19 states across the nation. Nowhere else in the nation does such a program exist. Colleen Kisel founded the organization in 1996 after her then seven-year-old son Martin had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1993. Ms. Kisel discovered that giving her son a toy after each procedure provided a calming distraction from his pain, noting that when children are diagnosed with cancer their world soon becomes filled with doctors, nurses, chemotherapy drugs, surgeries and seemingly endless painful procedures. Martin celebrated his 26th anniversary of remission from the disease in March of 2019.
