Nearly 120 Speeding Citations, Dozens Others Issued In Orland PD Winter Traffic Safety Push
The Orland Park Police Department on Monday detailed the results of its winter speed enforcement campaign.
ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park Police on Monday released the results of its enhanced traffic enforcement efforts conducted for the winter speed enforcement campaign. The efforts, carried out between Jan. 9 and Feb. 28, 2026, were designed to reduce crashes and save lives on Illinois roadways.
The breakdown includes:
- (117) speeding citations
- (2) occupant restraint citations
- (4) electronic device use citations
- (2) arrests
- (32) other traffic citations
“The goal of this enforcement was to make our roads safer for everyone,” said Orland Park Police Chief Eric Rossi. “By targeting the leading causes of crashes, we aimed to save lives and send a clear message that unsafe driving will not be tolerated.”

The STEP grant was funded with federal highway safety funds and administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of a statewide effort to improve traffic safety and reduce fatalities.
