Orland Park Bans Liquor Deliveries

Village board votes to close "loophole" that would allow businesses to deliver alcoholic beverages.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- Liquor deliveries have been banned in Orland Park, even though no village business delivers liquor and no prospective business was considering it. The village board voted 4-1 last week to close what Mayor Keith Pekau called a “loophole” in local liquor laws that would allow the delivery of alcoholic beverages, according to a report from The Reporter.

The ban was made through an amendment to the municipal code.

Pekau noted than no Orland Park business delivers liquor so “we won’t be hurting anyone.” His request received support from all but one member of the village board.

Trustee Dan Calandriello voted against the measure, citing that since no one is doing it now “we don’t need to address it.”
