Orland Park Chamber Wants to 'Bring on the Blue'

A show of unity to support front-line workers

Orland Park Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Tinley, Mokena, New Lenox, Lockport and Frankfort Chambers of Commerce to show support for health care workers and first responders who work tirelessly to make sure our communities remain safe during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.

Businesses and community residents are encouraged to display blue ribbons physically, virtually, or both.

“Tie blue ribbons or any blue fabric to the trees on your property,” said Felicitas Cortez, Orland Chamber executive director. “Use what you already have at home. Or draw blue ribbons on paper and put them up on your front door and windows and vehicles windows.”

Cortez also suggests posting the campaign to social media with an image of a blue ribbon and tagging your local health care facility, first responder location or favorite health care hero.

“It would be wonderful to see every tree, home, car, and social media page sporting a blue ribbon,” said Cortez. “Let this display be a sign of gratitude for the bravery of our healthcare professionals and first responders and a show of unity that we are stronger together.”
