Orland Park Kiwanis Club Gifts Bridge Teen Center $2,000

The money will be put toward free programs for area teens.

The Orland Park Kiwanis Club recently presented a donation of $2,000 to The Bridge Teen Center to help support their ongoing free programs offered to area teens.

The Bridge Teen Center Founder Priscilla Steinmetz graciously accepted the contribution from the club.

“The Bridge Teen Center is honored to be one of the charities supported by the Orland Park Kiwanis Club,” said Steinmetz. Born right here in Orland Park, The Bridge is a grassroots nonprofit organization that receives no ongoing state or federal funding.

“Our free holistic after-school programs for teens are supported by hundreds of businesses, foundations and individuals in the community,” explained Steinmetz who thanked the organization for their contribution.

Supporting programs that, in turn, support children is not a new concept to the Orland Park Kiwanis Club members who regularly provide funds to many local organizations including, but not limited to, the Orland Township Food Pantry and Together We Cope as well as providing help to individual families in need as needsarise. “Orland Park Kiwanis is pleased to be able to contribute to the efforts of the Bridge Teen Center,” remarked Edward Schussler, Lt. Governor of Division 4 of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District of Kiwanis International. “The Bridge Teen Center is a wonderful resource in our community.”
